Brookhaven is a hard rock band coming on the scene with a blend of classic and modern elements. Formed in 2019 by brothers Kody (vocals/guitar) and Ryan Ploetz (drums), the band began its journey to find its line up and its sound. After testing the waters with various members, the band welcomed Chad Jeacoma (bass) and Chris Churakos (lead guitar/producer) in early 2020. The Ploetz brothers finally had the group they were looking for to get to experimenting, and more importantly, recording.
In their first year as a group, these Niagara Falls boys released a six song EP “Reflections” as well as a handful full singles that showed the bands versatility and growth. With influences ranging from The Foo Fighters, Metallica and Frank Zappa, to more modern groups like Breaking Benjamin and Beartooth, Brookhaven’s brief presence in the music scene offers a variety of sounds for rock fans. With tracks like “I Have Sinned” that are reminiscent of the likes of Dio, their latest single “Written in the Stones” which features big, catchy choruses and melodic solos, all the way to “Learning to Love”, a waltz ballad about heartbreak and hope, Brookhaven offers a little something for all music lovers.
In the early stages of their career, Brookhaven has performed at many venues around Buffalo, such as Mr. Goodbar and Mohawk Place. By the end of 2021, they will be playing at Milkie’s Elmwood Lounge on October 9th and The Evening Star on November 5th. By the spring of 2022, Brookhaven plans on releasing an album and then going on tour.
